2009 South East Region Intercounties Helice (ZZ) Championship
Invicta Gun Club Sunday 28th June 2009 Weather was good and an excellent turn out for this increasingly popular discipline. Six teams out of the Region's nine counties were competing for the title and Berkshire (who have been threatening to win an Intercounties ever since they joined us) emerged the Champions with Greater London in second place and Surrey in third. The three shooters who shot the competition straight had a shoot off, Jack Sparrowhawk, Ron Smith and Nicola Heron with Nicola taking the title. As far as I can remember, and please correct me if I am wrong, Nicola is the only second lady to ever win an Intercounties outright, the last one being Cheryl Southgate who won the Intercounties DTL a long time ago. The Lady Champion was Dionne Rogers (Kent), the Junior Champion was Sam Coffey (Surrey), the Colt Champion was Aaron Smith (Sussex) and the Veteran Champion was Ron Smith (Kent). There was a good atmosphere and i hope that everyone had a good day. My thanks go to Invicta for holding this Championship for the South East Region.
