2009 South East Region Down The Line Championship
Bisley Gun Club Sunday 30th August 2009 What a well organised and brilliant day this was and it did not rain. Bisley Gun Club had hired a third layout from the NCSC and 95 guns went through the competition without a hitch. The winning team, who were determined to be the winning team right from the start, were Sussex with Surrey in second place and Essex in third. The Champion was John Malden from Kent, the Lady Champion, after a shoot off with Michelle Waghorn, was Caroline Standbrook from Buckinghamshire, the Junior Champion was Jack Tucker from Surrey, the Colt Champion was Aaron Smith from Sussex and the Veteran Champion was Bernard Ambrose, the lone Hertfordshire team member. The delightful colt from Berkshire, Amber Hill, shot her first 25 straight. Sadly the Junior Champion and the Veteran Champion were not at the prize giving to receive their badges but i did manage to kiss everyone else who had won anything (and some who had won nothing). Many thanks to Jenny and the two Annes for feeding and watering us. Pete Rogers who despite looking a little stressed kept everything up to speed and saved my special parking space. Dave Goddard and his computer who saved me a lot of work and of course to Joan Read without whom i would not have ever have become the South East Regional Secretary ( so you can blame her) A great day- thank you Bisley Gun Club.
