2010 Surrey Sportrap Championship

Gary Yeomans kept his calm through some difficult conditions at the Surrey Sportrap Championships at Southdown on 16 May to emerge a worthy winner on 88 ex 100. Last year’s champion Jonathan Ward had to content himself with runner-up this time around on 85, with Martin Holmes’ 79 earning him the Veteran’s title. The event also saw the welcome return to competition of Tom Hicks, after his (all too) recent heart surgery. Although unable to maintain his early challenge on this occasion, the Yorkshire terrier will no doubt soon be back to form, even if his doctors still think he is on bedrest!
