2010 Surrey Grand Prix ESP Championship Bisley Shooting Ground Sunday 18th April
The Surrey Grand Prix, held back in April and won by Daniel Johnson, promised a high gun prize of a gun cabinet sponsored by George Hadley of Imperial Security Products.Regrettably, despite the best efforts of the committee, Imperial Security Products has failed to deliver the prize, and has also failed to respond to our many attempts to contact the company. We now understand that Imperial Security Products has ceased trading.Unfortunately, since committee funds are so limited, we have been unable to provide Mr Johnson with an alternative prize of equal value, without jeopordising next year’s budget for providing badges and trophies for the wider Surrey CPSA membership. The committee therefore wrote to Mr Johnson to apologise for the situation, and to offer him a £50 cheque, intended to approximately cover his expenses, as the best we were able to do in regrettable circumstances. Mr Johnson has asked that we make clear that he did not receive his prize. Following a cool start the day developed into clear sun shine with a slight breeze, with Bisley Shooting Ground setting a most challenging set of sporting targets. Utilising their famous 'Long Siberia' layout a most excellent selection of stands provided a real sporting challenge for the 2010 Grand Prix. This years Grand Prix was generously sponsored by George Hadley of Imperial Security Products, with George providing a fabulous Gun safe for the Grand Prix winner, who for 2010 was Daniel Johnson with the most outstanding score of 98. Adrian Berry, Richard Wellar, Alan Johnson and Andy Seaman also managed to shoot into the '90's, and Natasha Vadaz, one of Surrey's top lady shooters headed the ladies with 81. A great days shooting for all.
