2008 Surrey English Skeet Championship NCSC Bisley Sunday 9th March 2008 On a Challenging day twenty five Surrey shooters braved very windy conditions at the NCSC to take part in this year's English Skeet Championship. The early pace was set by Charlie Sternson and David Dale who both shot a 50 straight, although Allan Warren was only one behind. (Did you really drop one Allan?)! His experience then showed and Allan went on to score a 50 straight in rounds 3 & 4 Giving him a total score of 99 and the title for 2008. This years Ladies Championship was keenley fought betweem Katy Poulsom and Kate Hancock. They were level after the first two rounds and Kate Hancock held a one shot advantage after round 3. She went on to shot her personalbest score but was pipped to the title by one shot by Katy Poulsom who scored 92. The Junior Champion this year was fought out between the Chapple brothers, with Will Chapple beating Ed Chapple with a score of 85 to win the title. He was not available at the end of the competition to be presented with his winner's medal. This will now have to be collected at a later date. Our two experienced Colts, Jack Tucker and Ollie Betchley, again challenged each other for this year's title, with Jack producing a winning score of 86 and collecting his winner's medal after the event. Colin Webb, Doug Millard and Roy Forester all vied for the Veterans title, which was won convincingly by Colin with an excellent score of 97. Thanks you to Barry Desborough for putting together this year's event and the five referees, Authur Lambert, Iain Stamp, Sarah Daley, Sean O'Shea and Peter Saich, who braved the weather conditions. Congratulations to all winners. Allan, Katy and Colin will be presented with their trophies at next year's AGM.
