Congratulations to Nick Carter who earned his first Surrey cap in the recent National Intercounties Championship held at Southdown on 1st & 2nd October. Not only did Nick hold his nerve under the pressure, but managed to pip the other members of the Surrey team - Tim Heywood, Anthony Kay, Matt Norris and Danny Smith - to highest team score of 82, which tied with team manager, mentor and England team member Alex Cobb in the process.

Nick's shooting continues to go from strength to strength under the wing of Alex, and as a result of his own hard work. One to watch in 2012!

As you can see from the photo's above, Alex has had to take on a new much more aggressive approach to coaching with Nick, but it seems to be working and let's face it a good wack round the ear with a cricket bat might be the answer for us all. We all beat ourselves up when we miss the one's we shouldn't and now you can pay Alex to do it for you.

The Surrey CPSA Committee would like to point out to anyone that does not realize that this article is meant to be humorous. Alex Cobb is not really using his sons cricket bat to coach his pupils. We would also like to point out that at the time the photographs were taken Nick Carters gun was checked and checked again to ensure the safty was on and it was not loaded. We can asure you that Nick has not suffered any bruising as a result of his coaching by Alex!
