2008 Surrey Universal Trench Championship NCSC Bisley Sunday 30th March 2008 We shared the facilities at the NCSC with two other counties; Greater London and Sussex. A Dismal start greeted us on Sunday last, almost as dismal as the turn out? Had it not been for the CPSA AGM and a Helice Selection shoot on the same day we could have expected a better turn out? I can only assume that everybody else listened to the weather forecast which was supposed to be diabolical; wind, driving rain, a touch of sleet was even suggested, in any event they got it wrong again!!! After the grey start glorious sunshine and a few clouds was the order of the day, a light breeze was all that stopped us from scoring heavily, not that it stopped Bradley Davis from stamping his world class ability on the proceedings, winning the Surrey Championship on a creditable 96, 6 Targets clear of Allen Warren and Colin Webb both on 90’s, Mike Davis was also in the hunt for a 90 plus but a disastrous last round kept him under that barrier finishing on a 88 along with Dan Archer. Sadly no juniors, Colts or Ladies attended; however of the 8 Surrey entrants 4 were Vets! Could this be a discipline just for the old’uns or are the younger members of you scared to have a go? Thanks to Barry and all the staff at the NCSC, the competition went like clockwork.
