The Surrey Side-by-side was hosted by Guildford & District Gun Club at Loseley Park as part of the Surrey Agricultural Society Annual Ploughing Match.
Despite wide marketing and promotion of the event, the dry week was following by a Sunday of torrential rain and wet weather resulting in only the few hardened shooters attending.
It was fitting that a year of downpours is coming to an end with more and more rain, and at this event to such an extent, that the scorecards were virtually unreadable. In fact, it was down to pure honesty and forensic investigation to make anything of the scorecards being passed back to the entry tent.
So that leads us to conclude that it simply isn't possible to piece together exactly who scored what except with the exception that Andrew Childs was yet again the victor and this years Surrey Side-by-side champion with a score of 32 ex 50.
The Webley and Scott trophy was won by Richard Budd of Sussex who scored a very respectable 39 ex 50.
Thank you to all those who braved the conditions and showed their support.
