2008 Surrey English Sporting Championship Southdown SGC Sunday 2nd March 2008 The Weather was a lovely spring like day although it was a quite windy for the 120 bird Surrey English Sporting Championship on Sunday 2nd March. Not surprisingly the numbers of entrants was very disappointing for the Surrey CPSA and Dave Peckham due to it being Mothering Sunday a good number of shooters may have had family commitments with only 22 Surrey Shooters making the trip to Southdown and only 116 entries in total. However there was a wide variety of very challenging targets to test every shooter from C class to the AA`s. The big surprise of the day was to see 14 Year old colt Ollie Betchley win the Surrey championship with a very good score of 98x120 giving some of Surreys top shooters a run for there money with only four shooters from other counties manage to brake the ton. The Surrey Lady was Natasha Vadasz with 90X120 the Surrey Vet Was Douglas Millard with 82X120 and the Surrey Junior was James Dover with 65x120.
