2009 Surrey Automatic Ball Trap Championship NCSC Bisley Sunday 4th May 2008 This years competition was contested at the NCSC, Bisley, by just a small number of entrants that turned out on Sunday 04 May 08. These consisted of three seniors, one lady, two veterans and two colts. There were no junior entrants. On a sunny and breezy day our two colts, Jack Tucker and Oliver Betchley, both ‘C’ Class, gave Mike Davis, an ‘A’ Class shooter, a very good run for his money. Mike started off with the only straight 25 of the day with Jack and Ollie close behind. In the second round Jack took the lead shooting 24, with Ollie scoring 22 and Mike only 20. All this changed in the third and fourth rounds. Jack had a bad third round while Ollie had a bad fourth. Mike regained his consistency with an excellent 24 in the final round to finish with a final score of 90 to take the County Championship title. Jack came a respectable second finishing on 87 and securing the Colts title for which he collected his winner’s medal after the event. The Ladies title was won by Katie Poulsom with a score of 58. The Veterans title was a close fought contest between Roy Forester and Douglas Millard with Roy winning by 6 clear shots with a score of 59. Thank you to Barry Desborough for putting together this year’s event and to all the referees. Congratulations to the winners, Michael, Katie and Roy who will be presented with their trophies at next year’s AGM.
