A CRACKING SUMMERS DAY AND OVER 200 ENTRIES TO THE FIRST SURREY & SUSSEX CPSA CLUBMAN.

Surrey and Sussex CPSA Committees joined together to offer all Club shooters, novices and those of you that just wanted to try it for the first time. A great days clay shooting on Sunday 13th July 2008 at Wattlehurst Farm, Dorking Road, Kingsfold, West Sussex.

The farm is situated right on the Surrey and Sussex border so it was the perfect location for the two counties to get together and offer both CPSA and none CPSA members a fabulous day of shooting, and also to give those that were interested in trying clay shooting for the first time some fun, whilst in the process raising some much needed funds for the Juniors and Colts of both counties.

Surrey Colt Ollie Betchley's father Brian very kindly offered his farm and ground to host this event, and the course setter was Dan Kerwood of Northall Shooting Ground, East Sussex, ably supported by one of Surrey and England’s top shooters, Alex Cobb who provided the traps.

Graham Oades of Easy Hit ran the flush and those's that shot it said it was about as much fun as you can have with your clothes on!!

All the stands for the whole event including the ‘have a go’ stands and the flush were provided by Howard Simmons. See the full range of shooting safety cages at

Full supporting services were provided through out the day, with hot / cold food and drinks, plus a superb Hog roast. All served in a very comfortable covered paved area.

There were plenty of Ladies, Gents and Disabled toilets around the ground.

SORRELL SHOT GUN SERVICING, Attended the shoot for any enquiries and repair that could be carried out on the day. Aslo quick after shoot cleans where a good percentage went to the fund for the Colt & Juniors of both counties. Also Sorrell Shot Gun Servicing donated a raffle prize of a full sevice on any gun which was won by Surrey shooter Stephen Tucker.

WEBLEY AND SCOTT, Sponsored the Side by Side Championship and shooters were able to have the use of one of Webley and Scott’s Demonstration Gun to try at the event.
