2008 Surrey Down The Line Championship NCSC Bisley Sunday 21st June 2008 Veteran Roger Fox showed everyone that he’s shooting the best form of his life with a 100 straight to secure both the Surrey Championship and the Veterans title. However his score of 100 / 295 showed he’s not yet reached perfection. Brilliant score, but 5 points dropped? You plonker!! On Saturday 21 June 08, fifteen Surrey shooters braved a dismal day to take part in the County DTL Championship at the NCSC. Roger Fox started off at a blistering pace with a 25 straight but was closely followed by Tim Heywood, John Barbour, Jack Tucker, Adrian Berry and James Coffey, all scoring 24. As things progressed only Tim, John and Jack could live with Roger’s pace and finished second, third and fourth in that order. This ensured Jack Tucker (15 yrs) retained his Colt’s title from last year. Young Sam Coffey (16 yrs) won the Junior Championship, shooting an excellent 90/268 in his first competitive Surrey competition. We hope this will be the first of many. Unfortunately there were no lady entrants. Both Sam and Jack collected their winners medals after the event. Roger will be presented with his trophy at next years AGM
